UK-headquartered lender HSBC has appointed Gautam Anand as its private banking business’ head of global India. His key role will be the strengthening connectivity across its international network for global India clients.

Anand brings over 25 years of experience across private banking, wealth management, and investment banking. Prior to joining HSBC Private Bank in December 2023 as global coordinator, global India, Middle East, North Africa and Europe, he held senior leadership roles across various international financial institutions, where he was responsible for driving the growth of South Asian and global India client businesses across Asia.

In his new role, Anand, the bank notes, will lead the global India private banking franchise, overseeing coverage across India and key international hubs, including Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and the UK, with a focus on delivering holistic client solutions for global India clients.

He will report to Tommy Leung, head of private bank, South Asia, and Aladdin Hangari, Head of private bank, Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.

“As our clients become increasingly international in their outlook, the ability to deliver seamless cross-market solutions remains a key priority,” Leung adds. “Anand brings deep experience and a strong track record in leading global India client businesses, and his appointment will further strengthen how we connect our teams and capabilities across markets to better serve our clients.”
